Extra-Curricular Activities

SEK Los Valles International School – Ecuador

SEK Los Valles International School offers a wide range of extracurricular activities for students in order to meet their individual interests in sports and culture.

These programs are taught after school, allowing students to learn and strengthen their individual and group skills.

Workshops are held from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Thursday.

Sports Club

Preschool (3-5 years old)

Tennis:
It is aimed at boys and girls from 5 to 10 years old and taught by coaches from the Academía de Tenis Del Toro certified by the ITF (International Tennis Federation).

Mini Bikers:
Mini Bikers School is an expert in teaching cycling to children over 2 years old. It is run by Diego Castillo, Pan American BMX Champion. Classes are taught in English and do not require a bicycle of your own.

Ballet:
Activity aimed at learning Ballet, working on coordination and proper body positioning, to correct possible postural defects and at the same time enabling individual sensitivity and creativity.

Swimming School:
The first objective is for the little ones to move around in the water without trauma, having a good time and achieving full autonomy by developing basic swimming skills (breathing, floating, moving, etc.).

Baby Soccer:
Baby Soccer combines the king of sports with the development of basic motor skills.

Primary - Secondary Education

Football IDV SEK:
Activity run by the Club de futbol Independiente del Valle. The objective of the football activity at the school is to encourage participation and the promotion of this sport as a healthy and fun activity, respecting the values ​​of camaraderie, cooperation, team play, fair play, etc. In addition, participants will develop technical and tactical fundamentals, using the IDV methodology. Includes an annual uniform.

Ballet:
Activity aimed at learning Ballet, working on coordination and proper body positioning, to correct possible postural defects and at the same time enabling individual sensitivity and creativity.

Volleyball Club:
Participants will learn different techniques specific to this sport through games and matches. It is a perfect activity to discover the value of teamwork. Includes an annual uniform.

Swimming School:
Students will master the techniques of the four strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly, as well as the different aquatic skills, such as competitive starts, dives and safe and fun water handling.

MMA (Mixed Martial Arts):
SIAM Muay Thai self-defense school is responsible for running the MMA classes, which combine the disciplines of Jiu-Jitsu, boxing, kickboxing and judo. Mixed martial arts offer a variety of educational and psychological benefits for children, including developing motor skills, improving self-esteem and discipline, encouraging socialization and promoting resilience.

Padel:
Padel is a sport for couples in which young people will improve aspects such as hand-eye coordination, spatial perception, endurance and strength. Padel classes will be held at the Cumbayá Pádel Center facilities with their coaches. Their facilities are located 7 minutes from the school, so transportation to and from the school will be included. It is not necessary for students to have their own paddle.

Horse Riding:
Horse riding contributes to the development of motor skills, safety and responsibility. In collaboration with the El Establo Riding School. Classes are held at El Establo, located 7 minutes from the school, so transportation to and from the school will be included.

Tennis:
It is aimed at boys and girls from 5 to 10 years old with coaches from the Academia de Tenis Del Toro certified by the ITF (International Tennis Federation).

Basketball Club:
The activity is run by the Club de Baloncesto San Pedro. Basketball is a highly recommended team sport due to the good ball handling that players learn, the vision of the game, the ability to make good passes, speed and make an accurate outside shot. It includes an annual uniform.

Dance School (Salsa & Bachata):
Learn Latin rhythms with qualified teachers.

Center for Arts and Culture

Debate:
There are many benefits that this activity offers us. We learn to investigate a multitude of topics, to defend ideas, express them clearly, to develop critical thinking and to understand others. Debating gives us a large number of skills that help us in our learning and prepare us for the future. It also encourages motivation and creativity and not only that, it teaches us countless values ​​such as respect, responsibility, tolerance and effort. A minimum of 8 students is required to start the activity.

Robotics:
Robotics allows them to work with educational materials with the intention of creating learning situations that develop their skills for their daily lives and under a new reality for them, thanks to a system that allows them to learn by doing. In the robotics workshop everything is practical and this principle is the basis of their growing interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

School Music Band:
Participants learn to play wind, percussion or string instruments, perform various musical pieces and improve their technique. They also often participate in events such as parades, competitions and school concerts, which fosters discipline, camaraderie and appreciation for music.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

  • Once the form is completed, you must make the payment in cash or by credit card at an authorized point of sale at the School for TIEMPO LIBRE TILISA S.A., the company in charge of extracurricular activities. Bank transfers must be made to the current account of Banco Internacional No. 648560, RUC: 1792437601001. In this case, we ask you to send proof of the transfer to the email empresas.tilisa.sa@gmail.com, including the billing information, name, course of your child and the activity that he/she will take.
  • To access the activity, payment must be made in September for the entire period. The activity ends on December 19.
  • A minimum and maximum number of students is required per extracurricular activity. Students will be admitted until the maximum number of children per group is completed, in order of registration.
  • Failure to comply with the School’s rules, as well as not being up to date with payment for activities or associated expenses, will be grounds for withdrawal from any extracurricular activity.
